By Tom Cavanagh | 11 March 2018 05:31:13The Milwaukee Bucks could become the latest team to join MLS.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has reported that the team is in the process of finalising a deal with a league office that will determine the club’s location, name and logo.
The team will play its home games in Milwaukee’s KeyBank Center, a state-of-the-art facility that is one of the oldest in the country.
According to the Journal Sentinel, the team has already signed contracts with several local firms.
The Journal Sentinel reports that the Bucks will pay for the naming rights to their stadium, which will sit just outside of the KeyBank Centre.
The naming rights will also go to a Milwaukee-based company, which is currently being developed by the Bucks’ ownership group.
The club could play its first MLS season in 2020, but it will not have the capacity to host MLS matches.
The Bucks are currently a franchise in the American Football League (AFL), the second tier of professional football in the US.
The Journal Sentinel reported that a source close to the deal said that the name of the team was still under discussion.
The name of a new team was also not confirmed, the paper said.
According the Journal’s report, the Bucks would have the opportunity to sell naming rights for the stadium to private investors.
The ownership group will be able to make the stadium’s naming rights public as long as they meet certain financial targets.
