The San Francisco Mendocino Sports Club announced it is launching its new home on Wednesday.

The Mendocinci Sports Club will be called the San Francisco Sports Club in honor of the city’s longtime resident basketball and baseball star, Frank Mendocini.

Mendocini played for the San Mateo Warriors from 1946 to 1956.

He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2019.

Mendo and his wife, Nancy, founded the Mendocinian Sports Club with their daughters, Lisa and Sarah, in 1971.

Mendo is the co-founder of the National Basketball Association’s San Francisco 49ers.

Mendon’s daughter, Sarah, is a senior advisor to the sports club.

The sports club’s website will announce the new name in September.
