The Olympics have been a great opportunity for rugby league clubs in many countries.
Here at The Scotsman we have seen many of the teams who made the most progress during the Games play in their home cities.
But what if they were to play in another country?
Rugby league is played in more than 40 countries and is one of the fastest growing sports.
There is even an Olympic sport called rugby union.
What happens if a club from one country decides to relocate and try to compete at an Olympic Games?
The Scotsmen asked some rugby league experts what might happen.
James Kavanagh is a sports journalist with The Scotsmans.
He has written several books including Rugby Union: A History.
He is the author of the book Rugby Rugby Football: The Complete Story.
He was interviewed by the Scotsman’s Chris Wood.
Here are some of the highlights from their conversation.
The Scots man: So what’s the problem?
James Kavainagh: Well it’s a bit like an international sport.
A lot of people get their foot in the door of rugby league by getting to the Olympics and then getting picked to play.
So a lot of clubs are interested in the Olympics.
The Scottishman: You mentioned that rugby league is an international sports.
James: So the question is, what happens if they do try and play?
Rugby League is played internationally and is not played in any particular country.
It’s played in all of the world’s sporting events.
Rugby union is played only in Scotland.
What’s the risk?
James: The risk would be if they went to play there and they got picked and ended up in a place that wasn’t ideal for them.
It could be that they get picked up by another club and they end up there.
If that happens then it’s more likely they’ll end up playing in the States, in the US or maybe in Australia.
They might even end up in England or Canada.
So the risk is a little bit higher if they’re coming to Scotland and then they get there and decide they’re not going to come back.
The danger is if they end and go and try and compete at a tournament, the chance of them getting picked is very low.
They may end up getting picked up somewhere else.
But if they go to play at a major international tournament and get picked, the chances are there are a lot more opportunities for them to play for a bigger club.
It doesn’t have to be in the USA or Europe.
There are a number of teams who would be keen to play a few matches in the UK.
If a club comes to Scotland to try and get into a top league then there’s a good chance they’ll get picked.
So there’s definitely an incentive to go.
The best example of a team that could make it to the final is the Glasgow Warriors.
They’ve won the last four tournaments.
The most recent was in 2019 and they went on to win the Scottish Championship and play at the Rugby World Cup.
The Glasgow Warriors won the Scottish Premier League.
They were the top-ranked side in the league at the time and the Warriors were the number one team in the world at the same time.
They played in the Rugby League World Cup, the Six Nations tournament and the Rugby Championship.
The Warriors won four games and won the title.
James’ book Rugby Union covers all the different types of international rugby union teams.
He’s written many books about international sport including Rugby Football and Rugby League Rugby.
The book was released in 2019.
He said: It’s the most comprehensive account of international sport ever written and it’s been one of my top recommendations to rugby league players and coaches.
So it’s worth reading if you’re a rugby league fan.
